Meet North Carolina Businesswoman Mary Kurek
By Jerrilynnb | August 25, 2008

Name: Mary Kurek
Company: Mary Kurek, Inc.
City: Atlantic Beach, NC
County or Province: Carteret
Metropolitan Area: Nearest is probably Raleigh or Charlotte
State: NC
What is your business expertise? Networking and marketing (Visibility Consulting)
Tell us about your company: I work with clients on creating and expanding online and offline visibility for their business or talent. I also speak and conduct workshops. I have developed a unique income-producing networking club exclusive to Chambers of Commerce that is associated with my book, “Who’s Hiding in Your Address Book? – Introducing the Ideal Network for Successful Women.” (Nationally endorsed by the American Business Women’s Assoc.) The Ideal Network Club is just being marketed nationwide – and beyond. Early results are great.
Who is your ideal client? Individually: Female entrepreneurs and small business owners – 35-55. “Greater good motivation.” Organizationally: Chambers of Commerce – primarily small to mid-sized. Professional Business Associations. Real Estate agencies.
What types of companies would you like to partner with to expand your marketing reach within your state? Large companies that market to Chambers such as wireless communications or credit card processing companies. Publishing companies that put out magazines and such to entrepreneurs and small business owners. People who own social networks online. People who do business with business professional associations like real estate associations.
How are you currently cross marketing? I collaborate with the owner of a business solutions business who I promote to do the tech part of web site building and she promotes me to do the “viz push” once the site is up and running. A third collaborator (restaurant consultant and personality profiler) has surfaced and together, the 3 of us market each other and include each other in major client project proposals as appropriate. I’m currently working with an author out of California to prepare a proposal for a major sponsor for getting the Ideal Network Club promoted at Institute for Organization Management (ie: Chamber college). The idea is to tie her workshops on corporate sponsorship into the Club’s programming. I am also collaborating with a local publishing company who gives me ½ page in the area’s business journal for a regular column and I promote their publishing company as a sponsor at my speaking and workshop events and on the streaming broadcasts I do for Chambers (they publish Chamber membership directories.)
